It’s not surprising considering the explosion of the amount of data produced every year, fueled lately by the mobile devices and the social networks. Yet, we hear very few real-world experiences of companies solving problems with Big Data. This presentation will be about how we leverage Big Data at Hopper to build a search engine for travel. You’ll hear about the many hurdles we’ve been going through and how we solved them.

Description: 14 MBA and undergraduate teams will present their business ventures. The Summer Venture Program supports the most promising MBA and undergraduate entrepreneurs from Babson, Olin Engineering and Wellesley Colleges. The 10-week program provides participants with an entrepreneurial community and support, including work space, mentors, peer reviews, speakers, and other resources. Demo Day is the culmination of the students’ hard work and where they showcase their accomplishments.
